Having joined the District Sound family back in March of last year with ‘Questions’ LTHL returns with 6 instrumental grime mutations forming ‘XXIII’.
Continuing to blur the lines between genres, LTHL offers a range of styles from the ethereal opener track ‘233’ and the delicate headphone trip ‘Prophet’, to warped club instrumentals ‘Yama’ and ‘Untitled’ that showcase booming subs and blade runner style pads with plenty of smoked-out cinematic effects.
‘Non’ displays LTHL returning to more traditional drum sequencing with a rich and sultry melodic style, whilst title track ‘XXIII’ sums up the entire experience; ghostly and hypnotic with tense atmospheres, exploring all ways to use them.
An intensely personal EP based on his outward trajectory from depression, LTHL uses musical escapism as therapy to carve his own niche. An essential disc for the discerning clubber or headphone jammer.
